Snow is evidently the main event in winter. The Hochkönig ski region include ares 120 kilometres of pistes and modern lifts offering easy access to pure skiing enjoyment. One on the highlights is the Königstour, a 35-kilometre circular ski tour connecting all three villages in the ski area. Winter sports enthusiasts can explore the entire region in just one day. On the summit tour you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. For freestylers and snowboarders, there are a number of fun parks where adrenaline junkies can test their skills and let off steam. If you’re looking for more of a challenge, there are beautiful deep snow slopes or superb ski touring routes. Professional guides at the ski schools will be happy to show you the best spots and routes.

Adventure off the slopes

For those seeking peace and quiet away from the ski slopes, the region around the Hochkönig offers a number of alternatives. For example, you can explore your surroundings on foot along 85 kilometres of winter hiking trails and appreciate the enchanting beautiful landscape in all its winter splendour. Or strap on your snowshoes and discover the wonders of nature off the slopes.

For cross-country skiers, there are 40 kilometres of perfectly groomed trails so you can explore the surroundings on skis. You’ll be able to appreciate the wintry landscape at a more measured pace as you improve your fitness. Those who like it faster will get their adrenaline flowing on one of the numerous natural toboggan runs in the region. For example, our run on Grünegg Alm - where you can whizz down into the valley on a toboggan.

Auch Tourengeher kommen bei einem luxuriösen Chalet Urlaub am Grünegg auf Ihre Kosten. Bei uns im Pinzgau gibt es unzählige schöne Routen jenseits der Skipisten. Erlebt die natürliche Winteridylle auf zwei Brettern.
Je nach Können wählt nach Lust und Laune eine anspruchsvolle Tour durch den Tiefschnee oder doch lieber eine Skipiste.

The Hochkönig ski region is very popular and extensive. Of course, you can also visit smaller ski resorts in the region. The Hochkeil natural skiing area (only 20 minutes away) is an absolute paradise for skiers who love pristine nature. Due to its altitude, the ski area always has guaranteed natural snow and does not require artificial snow. So nothing gets in the way of an unforgettable and enjoyable skiing experience.

Lots of fun in the snow

A very special feature of our region are Königstouren gastronomic tours. Here you can fortify yourself with delicious regional dishes between runs on the Königstour. At each stop at one of the alpine huts you’re served one course of a coordinated 3 to 4 course menu, based around different gastronomic themes. So when you go hut-hopping, you can enjoy regional culinary delights while also exploring the beautiful surroundings.
